Mark Hillard possesses more than 20 years of experience in healthcare finance and administration as a Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operations Officer and Chief Executive Officer. His experience spans for-profit, not-for-profit, and governmental markets in rural and urban settings. Hillard has been involved in the financial management, business development and operations of institutions that provide health plan management, hospital tertiary care, freestanding surgery, skilled nursing, behavioral health, correctional health, rehabilitation, chemical and alcohol dependency care, academic teaching and burns and trauma.
 
 
 
 

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

• Served as Chief Operating Officer for University Physicians Health Plans, in Tucson, Arizona, where he grew health plan membership over 40% via effective marketing and sales efforts. Played an integral role in responding to RFP to manage a large health plan in the Phoenix area, resulting in an additional 35,000 members.
   
• Managed a plan focusing on the needs of the working uninsured populations of the State of Arizona, as Director for Hillard Consulting Corp. Grew the plan by more than 50% via revised benefit designs. Oversaw contracting with health plan partners and the actuarial rate setting processes.
   
• As Chief Executive Officer for Maricopa Integrated Health System in Phoenix, Arizona, he was responsible for the administration of Maricopa Integrated Health System and its health plans. Grew net revenues to $800 million through physician recruitment, new product line development, investment in diagnostic equipment, and 75 percent growth in health plan membership.
